In the peaceful and lush village of Timun, lived a cheerful mousedeer family: Cila, the wise eldest; Cili, the resilient middle child; and Cilo, the energetic youngest who loved playing ball. They lived with their loving parents and Ayam, the loyal rooster who guarded their home.
In this gadget-free place, the three siblings grew up with the freedom of nature, spending their days exploring the surroundings, creating creative projects, and crafting traditional toys. Every moment in the Village of Timun was filled with boundless imagination, endless inspiration, and joy—proving that behind a simple life lies a world of extraordinary adventures.
The origin of Desa Timun is inspired by the Southeast Asian folktale of the clever mousedeer, known for its love of cucumbers. In Indonesia, this story is well known through the rhyme:
“Si Kancil anak nakal, suka mencuri timun, ayo lekas dikurung, jangan diberi ampun.”
(“The mischievous mousedeer loves to steal cucumbers, quick—lock him up, don’t show him mercy.”)
In Desa Timun, the mousedeer has grown up and left behind his mischievous ways. Now, he grows cucumbers, making them abundant in the village that came to be known as Desa Timun. This story follows the lives of his children—Cila, Cili, and Cilo—through exciting adventures and heartwarming moments.
